  • Horror Night at Write Blend, Liverpool

    From 7pm

Write Blend, 124 South Road, Waterloo, Liverpool, L22 0ND

Write Blend becomes Fright Blend for this evening of pre-Hallowe’en chills.

Horror writer Marie Anne Cope will take you on a journey to explore the meaning of terror and horror and to debate the correct mix of each within a horror story or movie. She will set your nerves on edge by looking at our fears, especially our fear of the dark, and seek to answer the question of why it is that we like to be scared.
Your emotions now heightened, Marie will seek to chill you to the core by reading one of her dark and scary short stories.
If you like to be frightened, if you like to feel that shiver down your spine, if you like the feeling of not knowing who will be lurking in the darkness as you leave, then come and join Marie and have your taste-buds tantalised.

Come along and discover the terrifying power of stories.

  • Writer’s Workshop – Planning Your Story

I had a fantastic morning yesterday delivering my Planning Your Story workshop where I took the guys through developing ‘real’ characters, creating a skeleton of your story and then adding meat and muscle to that skeleton.

I will be running a 6 week course starting 25 January 2018, so watch this space for more info ?

  • Floga With Flossie Launch

As I am a yoga teacher, Jude asked me if I’d come along and do a little demo after her reading. I was more than happy to oblige and even had a couple of willing participants, one of whom was Jude herself!

  • CofW Writers’ Group Meeting

We then had a battle of the genres, where horror went up against sci-fi, historical fiction and children’s. HORROR WON!! I converted 6 people to the dark side (going from an initial 5 to 11). Not sure if it was the red lipstick, the leather pants or what I actually said…..who cares!!

  • My Short Story ‘Two Days’ Wins First Prize at Wrexham’s Carnival of Words 2017

How excited am I to announce that my short story ‘Two Days’ won the top prize at the Carnival of Words on 1 May. I am absolutely over the moon and got to hear AD Garrett read it out loud too!

What’s tickling my writing pals is that ‘Two Days’ is a story of passion not horror!

In case you missed it, here are some pictures. ‘Two Days’ will be published in a separate post.
